Ninaivu ("the app") is developed by Raja Loganathan, an individual developer in India ("we"). Ninaivu helps families keep important details (IDs, policies, bills, health notes and renewal dates) private and organised. This policy explains what happens to your information.
Family member names, documents, numbers, dates, notes and optional photos you add are stored encrypted in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes this local copy.
If you choose "Connect Google Drive", the app asks Google for permission to use the drive.appdata scope. This lets the app read and write only its own hidden folder in your Drive; it cannot see your other Drive files. The encrypted vault file is transferred directly between your device and Google over HTTPS. Google's handling of your account is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time in the app's Settings or at Google account permissions, and delete the app data from Google Drive (Settings → Manage apps).
Ninaivu's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Ninaivu AI is available only on the optional AI Monthly plan and is off unless you use it. When you choose a document or photo and tap to approve, only that file is sent over HTTPS through our secure relay (hosted on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India) to Google Gemini, which picks out key details such as names, numbers and dates. The relay checks your AI Monthly licence key and counts usage against your monthly and daily limits using only your licence ID and an anonymous device ID. The document is processed and passed back to your device; it is not stored or logged by us. You review every detail before anything is saved in your vault. Nothing is sent without your approval. Google's handling of the request is covered by the Gemini API terms and Google's privacy policy.
Renewal reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder content is sent to us.
Paid plans are unlocked with a licence key that is verified offline inside the app. If you buy a plan on our website, payment is processed by Razorpay, and we receive only the details needed to issue your key (such as your name, email and payment reference). These are used only to send and support your licence and are kept as required by Indian tax law. Razorpay's processing is covered by its own privacy policy.
Encrypted backups, Excel exports and printouts are created only when you ask and are saved where you choose. Unencrypted exports are your responsibility to store safely.
Ninaivu is not directed at children under 13. Parents may store information about their children; this stays on the parent's devices and Drive.
We use standard Web Crypto (PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation, AES-KW and AES-GCM-256). No method is perfectly secure; please choose a strong passphrase and keep your recovery key safe.
Because we hold no vault data, you control deletion: delete the vault in the app, uninstall it, and remove Ninaivu's app data from Google Drive. To delete licence purchase records, email us.
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date.
